Our project story

We are a dedicated group of parents of children with physical and learning difficulties raising money to build a swimming facility specifically designed to meet the additional needs of all those across West Suffolk who find access to public facilities challenging. Having secured a site at the new Riverwalk School campus we are aiming to raise at least £1,000,000 to build an accessible swimming pool which will bring the freedom and joy of water to everyone.

For many with physical or learning difficulties access to public sports facilities can be very difficult, stressful or simply impossible. The physical and mental health benefits of sports are well known but for those with physical or learning difficulties swimming pools can be a whole new world and the only place where their mobility issues disappear or are greatly reduced.

Join us on this fantastic journey to build a swimming facility that is fully accessible to all, regardless of their additional needs. Changing beds, pool hoists, accessible toilets, quiet rest areas, noise reducing materials will make the pool a safe place to be enjoyed by everyone.
